As per market estimates, the current viewer ship of Facebook is at around 400 million users and that count is increasing quite rapidly. Facebook would display such advertisements on the profile page of a user which align with that particular user's interests, groups, sex or age. For example female users are shown advertisements of prom dresses, jewelry and matching shoes etc. Further, a user who would have subscribed to a group of a particular group such as golf would be shown advertisements of manufacturers of golf equipment.
